The Deposition of the Holy Trinity Returns to the San Marco Museum (RAI News.it)

After a two-year restoration, the masterpiece is once again on public display. It will be among the works featured in the major exhibition Florence will dedicate to the painter friar in September.

The work, commissioned between 1429 and 1432 by Palla Strozzi in honour of his father Onofrio for the Sacristy of the Church of S. Trinita, transformed into a family chapel, represents one of the first cornerstones of the mature artistic production of Beato Angelico. The report includes interviews with the regional director of the Museums of Tuscany Stefano Casciu, with Marco Mozzo, Director of the Museum of San Marco, with the President of Friends of Florence Simonetta Brandolini d’Adda and with Angelo Tartuferi, former Director of the Museum of San Marco and co-curator of the exhibition “Angelico”.
