Restoration of Agnolo Bronzino’s 1552 portrait of Laura Battiferri, an eminent poet, intellect, and dear friend of the artist, has been completed. The painting in the holdings of the Museo di Palazzo Vecchio was restored for the exhibition The Medici: Portraits and Politics 1512-1570 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (June 26 – October 11, 2021), thanks to the generous support of Friends of Florence Board member Ellie Cullman Jr. and her husband Edgar. Restored by Andrea and Lucia Dori.
